Do you want your son or daughter to be optimally prepared for the transition to Middle School? Wouldn't it be nice if they could already express themselves confidently in English? And that they could already experience that English does not have to be boring and dry?
Kickstart School can help you with a fun course, given entirely in English, where fun and practical exercises go hand in hand. The content is based on what is expected of them in the first year.
By immersing them in a setting where only English is spoken, children can build a lot of self-confidence in communicating in English in a relatively short time. This gives them a head start that they can fall back on later. This is also a valuable course for dyslexic children since the focus is on speaking skills.
A lot of work is done in groups, using a wide variety of working methods, such as interactive descriptions of richly illustrated picture books (various themes). Reading graded readers and talking about them in the group, playing board games, taking quizzes, writing your own comics, making short films are all good ways to get communication going.
English is the norm. There is a safe climate, where making mistakes is allowed. Everyone is valued for his/her input. Respect for each other is the starting point.
Topics covered in the course include:
In 5 sessions of 3 hours from 9.30-12.30 during the Autumn vacations and the last week of the summer vacations. There is 1 hour of homework per session. The maximum number of participants is 10.
A level test must be taken before enrolling.
